Cards

a few cards I made today. Not sure what saying or quote to put in the last card? 

...a great move!  One of the girls is moving out of the City, It is a great move for her family but we will miss her at our fun fondue nights and movie night outs!

While I was visiting my favourite sister the last week we hit up the local fabric store in her small town. They had a pretty decent selection, I was quite surprised. The prices were a bit high though.  I really love this vintage feel floral cotton.  We made wipe cases.  What do you think?    I'll be saving the remnants for a future project :o)

My holidays are now over, it was a great 9 days off. Back to waking up early, working hard, and days meshing together...



explanation and a few crafts..

Yes! I made something boyish tonight! But first I wanted to give a short and simply reason why I haven't been blogging.  On September 26th at 3:40pm, my daddy, my suddenly sick daddy, left us and went to heaven. I haven't been feeling very crafty and almost sluggish in the crafy juicyness. I am on the mend and its coming back slowly.

Onto my big boy project. I call it a car seat zipper bag. It has a ribbon loop for easy carrying, and it will easily store a few toys for any drive. Riley is so in love with it, he keeps changing what his "favorite" toys are to put in there. hehe.

If anyone wants a tutorial please let me know :)

Last weekend my girlfriends go together for our regular girls night extravaganza and we had a lot of fun making hair bows for our selves and others. It was so much fun!

Down Time

Sorry I haven't had any new blog entries. I was away for a family emergency.
I should be feeling crafty soon..

A little of this and a little of that, all in one blog post!

So I'll just cut right to the chase and show you what I've been up to the last few days! Please leave me some feedback on what you like! :)

I'll start off with I think my most favorite, maybe because I made something for me for once!?

I made a coffee sleeve, and a lanyard for a friend's birthday :)

I also made a couple kid and baby items. Mitten clips for Riley and my nefew Van. Riley loves his so much!

and here is the wipecase glamorized! My first one so it's not perfect, but I had a lot of fun making it!

and of course I can't miss posting some cute hair bows, now can I? ;)

I made a simple ricebag for my sister, you can heat it up in the microwave or put it in the freezer for a cold bag. :)

and lastly are my super cute and festive pins! I used scraps of scrapbook paper and modpodged it on.  Once dried I sanded down the edges and used buttons and other assorted festive items to dress them up! I bought some nice ribbon and did a little example of how you would clip them on and hang it up in your house to show off all of your christmas cards!
So let this be a note to all my friends, send me christmas cards early so I can hang them on my beautiful banner! ;)

My weekend adventures

Hello all, hope you are having a good weekend!!?
This weekend has been busy for me and I haven't even cleaned the house yet! Saturday was a day trip to visit family.  When I got home I had the urge to go to Goodwill or ValueVillage to look for treasures. So off I went.  Here's what I picked-up and what I plan to do with it!...

I have always wanted an antique looking jewlery box $5.99

Anyone who knows me well knows I absolutely adore vintage floral. Love it!! I forgot to take a picture of it after I cleaned it and put my jewelry in it. darn!

There are these super easy pillowcase dresses everyone in the bloggerhood is making, so I bought a cute vintage blue floral pillowcase for .99 cents and I picked up some ribbon and a few buttons from Michaels.. I'll post a before and after in the near future :)

Something new I noticed at the VV near my house is that they now have an officual CRAFT area! sewing, yarn,craft stuff, it's there! They had tons of patterns, I found a couple old vintage ones I'll try on a rainy day. 1969 and 1971.. classic!  I also found a couple knitting/crocheting books with patterns. I really want to make the overal-dress. (wait is that the correct terminology?, I clearly do not have a girl-yet!|) Has anyone made something like this? I'd love some advice!

and I found some plain white flannel squares by accident, it was meant to be! I haven't decided what to do with them yet but my ideas are for either burp clothes or maybe the back for receiving blankets? make a little patchwork one would be cute? Ideas??

I also did some iron-on transfers today. Notice how they are all girly? It's my way of crossing my fingers and hoping my sister or I has a GIRL next baby!!   Do you like these? I have been done a few lately of different kinds and so far they are very easy to do however the diamond transfers did not work for me so I wouldn't recommend those.
